Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) measures how satisfied customers are with a specific interaction, such as a purchase, visit, delivery or support conversation. It is usually asked on a 1–5 scale: “How satisfied were you with your experience today?”
The most common way to calculate CSAT is the percentage of satisfied customers — those who choose 4 or 5. For example, if 264 of 300 customers rate 4 or 5, your CSAT is 88%. Many teams also track the average rating, such as 4.4 out of 5.
Because CSAT is tied to a single moment, it is ideal for finding exactly where an experience works and where it breaks. With Zapio Survey you can compare CSAT by branch, channel, team and journey across the UAE and GCC.
Send CSAT while the experience is fresh — at checkout, after delivery or when a ticket closes.
Use the same scale across locations and channels so results are comparable.
A short “What could we improve?” follow-up explains low scores.
Report CSAT by branch, team, channel and journey step to find where to act.
Alerts help managers recover unhappy customers before they leave a public review.
Track CSAT weekly or monthly and compare results before and after changes.
CSAT (Customer Satisfaction Score) measures how satisfied customers are with a specific interaction, product or service, usually on a 1–5 scale.
Divide the number of satisfied responses (ratings of 4 or 5 on a 5-point scale) by the total number of responses and multiply by 100.
Benchmarks vary by industry, but many organisations aim for 75–85% or higher. The most useful comparison is your own trend and the difference between branches and teams.
CSAT measures satisfaction with a specific interaction, while NPS measures overall loyalty and likelihood to recommend. Many businesses track both.
A 1–5 scale is the most common. You can also use stars or emoji faces for a friendlier experience, as long as you use the same scale consistently.
